My first goodbye and gossip

Since starting bookshop tours nearly two years ago, only one of my regular tour stops has announced its closing: Caravansèrail on Brick Lane will be going out of business later this month. Without fail the warmest bookshop in London town, their books and art showed great intelligence and taste.

Please stop in for a final visit: "Our last day of trading will be 28 April, and from 16 April we’ll be having a sale with 50% off all stock. A huge heartfelt thanks to you all from both of us for having been so generous and loyal. Warmest wishes, Anne & Laura"
Laura's plans include work in publishing in London, so keep an eye out for her. I've heard that a new bookshop will be taking on the lease and lovely furnishings, so stay tuned...

Meanwhile, Telling Tales, the Saturday bookshop in Hackney is relocating to a canal boat. More news when I visit, I think the bookshop boat is still being fitted.
Jake from Peninsula Press (and Camden Lock Books) said they're reprinting their first books - congratulations. I highly recommend Mixed-Race Superman by Will Harris.
Our news is the Bluestocking Books Illusions tour we'll offer only twice, on 26 April and on 11 May. Buy a ticket and spread the word - we'll view two exhibitions, browse several bookshops and have a brief demonstration of stage magic. Spring is the time for something new!
